YEAR 2

A warm welcome to all students and families as we enter another academic year 2020. We have five new students who have started Year 2 at Sirius College and have made some new friends. They are Anass, Hamza, Ahmed, Aishah and Ali. All students have commenced this term with great enthusiasm and are doing their best in my class.

I would like to introduce myself and other teachers who are teaching Year 2 students this year. My name is Amninder Malhi and I am the homegroup teacher. I teach English, Mathematics, Art, Music, STEM, Health and one lesson of Physical Education. Teachers who are teaching them other subjects are mentioned below.

Few important reminders that I would like to share with you:

• Our P.E days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students come in P.E uniform only on these days.
• Students need to hand in their completed homework on Friday every week.
• They must complete their online tasks as well. I assign one reading and comprehension lesson and one spelling activity on Reading Eggs each week. They must complete all quizzes after reading the lesson. Mathletics tasks are often related to class room topics.
• They must read every night and the yellow reading log should be signed by parents.
• We promote healthy eating at school. All children must have one piece of fresh fruit/ vegetable for the fruit time. Please pack healthy food for recess and lunch. Chocolate, lollies, chips and Nutella are not permitted at school.
